Facts About the Twins
Born just 1 minute apart, with Michelle being the older twin.
Their first language was Czech, followed by English and Spanish from first grade.
Their parents escaped communism in the Czech Republic in 1985, settling in Monterey, California.
They grew up in Pebble Beach, near a golf course but never took up golfing!
Childhood summers were often spent in the Czech Republic.
In high school, they excelled in cross country and lacrosse, honing their teamwork and endurance.
Both were Co-Valedictorians of their high school and dental school.
They are proud authors and illustrators of three children's books on oral health.
They presented at the 11th World Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Congress in Wuhan, China.
After 20 years of wanting to be orthodontists, Drs. Stepanek are excited to finally make their dreams come true with Twin Teeth Orthodontics!

Both Dr. Michelle and Dr. Christine discovered their calling in orthodontics early in life. Dr. Michelle has dreamed of becoming an orthodontist since she was 10 and is dedicated to crafting beautiful smiles for children, teens, and adults. Dr. Christine, having experienced the life-changing impact of braces as a child, is equally passionate about the transformative power of orthodontics. Together, they create a welcoming, modern environment where patients of all ages feel at home!
Their academic journey began at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where they both earned their Bachelor of Science degrees. Drs. Stepanek continued their education at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (UOP) in San Francisco, where they received their Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees, graduating top of their class. Their pursuit of specialization in orthodontics led them to complete their Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics at UOP's residency program.
Based in Santa Monica, Dr. Michelle enjoys beach days, restaurant explorations, and hiking with her fiancé. Dr. Christine loves biking around Santa Monica with her husband, dining out, and exploring Los Angeles with friends. They can’t wait to treat you and your smile soon!
Orthodontics and treating patients is not just a career for Dr. Christine — it’s her passion and calling! After having three rounds of braces that changed her self-confidence and health as a child, she fell in love with the transformative aspect of her profession and the upbeat, welcoming atmosphere that she can incorporate into her own office.
Now, as an orthodontist, she aims to treat every patient with respect and kindness, and she strives to create a modern, refreshing environment that children, teens, and adults will look forward to during every one of their visits.
Dr. Christine attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for her undergraduate Bachelor's in Science degree, followed by dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the top of her class alongside her sister.
Finally, Dr. Christine stayed in San Francisco at UOP for her orthodontic residency, completing her Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics attestations.
Dr. Christine's career accomplishments include writing and illustrating three children's books about oral health and braces with her twin sister. Dr. Christine also presented at the 11th World Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Congress (ICPF) in China in 2017.
When she’s not perfecting smiles, you can find Dr. Christine riding her bike around Santa Monica with her husband in her free time, indulging in restaurants, and exploring Los Angeles with her friends.
